Our
District Minister, the youngest Minister ever to have pastored
this congregation in recent times is called Rev. George O.
Kwapong.
FAMILY
LIFE
He
was born on 3rd March 1963. He is a native of Akropong Akuapem.
He is married to Mrs. Olivia Kwapong, a lecturer at the University
of Ghana, Legon and have three (3) children: Theophyl, Theodoxea
and Ebenezer.
EDUCATIONAL
/ MINISTERIAL TRAINING
The
Rev. Kwapong holds a Diploma in the study of Religions from
the University of Ghana, Legon, a Certificate in Pastoral
Studies and a Bachelor of Divinity from the Trinity Theological
Seminary, Legon.
WORK
EXPERIENCE
Teaching
He
first started work as a teacher at Akropong and later at Kpandu
in the Volta Region
Ministry
After
he was commissioned, he was initially posted as a Youth Coordinator
to the Akuapem Presbytery. He was later posted as the District
Minister in charge of the Akyem Awisa District. While at Awisa,
he doubled as the Civilian Chaplain of the Jungle –
Warfare School of the Ghana Armed Forces at Achiase. He later
became an Associate Chaplain of the Garrison Methodist-Presbyterian
Church, Burma Camp.
Since
2003, the Rev. Kwapong has been in charge of this congregation,
where by the grace of God he has dutifully served his people
with earnest.
Papa
as usually call him is a writer, a teacher and a pastor who
is committed to his work. He was ordained in 1997. God willing,
by September 1 this year, he will be in New Jersey in the
prestigious Princeton Theological Seminary for a Master’
Degree in theology.
